Craving Something?

Okay, I live in the Northwest and we have way too many gray days. Some days I cry for sunshine.

Maybe my body was also craving some natural vitamin C. It seems that God has 'yellow' and 'vitamin C' in one natural package - the lemon. I saw these in the store and knew they would be going home with me. I made a huge batch of Fresh Lemonade Syrup, made one serving (refrigerated the rest) and sat down to enjoy my cup of sunshine.

I think God likes it when we crave Him so much, we are willing to do something about it. Acts 17:27 encourages us to "seek Him and reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far . . . "

I wanted it hot instead of cold - we still have snow on the ground!

Recipe:
Dissolve 3 C. sugar in 1 C. boiling water. Cool. Add 3 C. lemon juice (16 lemons) and 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel. Cool and store in the refrigerator for up to one week. For 1 serving, combine 1/4 C. syrup to 3/4 C. water. (Adjust sugar, syrup, and/or water to your tastes.)

In Spain, we said that the orange tree takes the sun in summer ant it returns it to us in winter.

Sounds so inviting! Think I'll go make a hot cup of tea to sip on.

Sounds like a great cure for a sore throat. Remember when Mom gave us hot lemonade for our sore throats?

No, grammylois, I don't remember Mom doing that! Did it help? Bob added a little too much of the syrup and needed a Tums!
