Becoming A Sweet Old Lady

If I were a photographer I might have known how best to present this plant. (Remember . . . I am on my walk finding what 'winter left behind'.) This pampas is so showy I would have thought it was the middle of summer!

Once again it poured today, the drenching, drowning rain where you wonder how anything can stay intact. I thought of this airy, wispy plant which looked beautiful after months of such rains.

It reminds me of something I have told myself for years. If I am going to be a sweet old lady, I have to be a sweet young lady. Sweet does not just happen. Psalms 40:11 "Let your loving kindness and truth continually preserve me." Phil 4:5 "Let your gentleness be known to all men." I Peter 3:4 "Cultivate your inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in."

I agree with Pastor Bob: It's definitely working! You're one of the sweetest ladies I know, and I'm so glad we found each other again. But then, when I think back to when we were young girls, you were always such a sweetie. Oh, and great photo by the way.

Connie, I just noticed the little blurb you put on there regarding using my photos. Thank you for that. I wonder how long it's been on there. I think I'm not very observant sometimes!

Boy, I feel kind of silly regarding the photo blurb. I think I zeroed in on your postings, and what you've written, and never really did see what you wrote about the photos! I have a vague recollection of seeing it a long time ago, but . . . .?? They say when you reach 40 the memory's the first thing to go...what about 50 and 60? Did you see the fabulous photo today of the birds in flight on the Stokes blog? Wonderful photo.
