When I was a kid, my mom occasionally made breakfast food for dinner - especially after a long, hard day at work.
On evening long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and burnt biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone would notice. All my dad did was reach for his biscuit,
smile at my mom and ask me how my day went at school. I do not remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite.
When I got up from the table that evening, I heard my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. I will never forget what he said, "Honey, I love burnt biscuits."
Later that night, I asked Daddy if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she is really tired. Besides, a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone."
Life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people. God can help us to accept each others' faults and struggles - it is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy and lasting relationship.
So, please, pass me a biscuit; the burnt one is just fine.

I love this! So touching and tender. I wish all people had that kind of love and respect towards each other.

I loved this story. It reminds me of my husband, who is very much "one of a kind". In the 23 years I've been married to him, not ONCE has he ever complained. And believe me, he had the right to a few times!
What a sweet story! My hubby has eaten all my mistakes along the way without complaint. I'm so grateful!
That's so sweet! My husband is like that, too!
What a lovely family story as some one who didn't have a mother (she died when I was 2 ) and a father who remarried I was brought up by a very victorian grand mother and my mothers two spinster sisters..So my family story are of me and mine.. and there were lots of times when my cooking efforts went wrong and bless my four children they ate every bit and even my ex ate it all, that might have been because he couldn't cook himself!!
Blessings
