Contentment

I have been studying about Paul and his ship wreck. Paul did not fight the circumstances of his life, although they did get pretty rough; he chose to stay content.

Contentment in the Bible is always used in the present tense.

Situations change faster than you can flip a fritter. Your ice-cream gets warm and your coffee gets cold. While things happen to us, around us, or in us, we can choose contentment.

It is something we learn and can not explain. We either are or we are not. Philippians 4:11-12 "For I have learned to be content in whatever state I am in."

Have a contented day!

Very good post today, Connie. I'm quite content in my circumstances. I'm married to a wonderful guy, I have a lovely daughter, and two amazing step-sons who have totally welcomed me and have made me feel very much a part of their lives and families. I can still enjoy my Dad's company, and I don't mind being 62!

A wonderful lesson for each of us.I must say, that for the most part I am content where I am.There are some things in my families life which I don't like.but God has given grace to accept even those things.
Blessings,Ruth

That verse is one I cling to everyday! I have come a long way in this area. All praise goes to my Heavenly Father.

Hi Connie, How are you doing??
Thank you for this, I needed it as I am sitting here in a bit of a pity party right now, not being content with where the Lord has me with my health.

"Contentment is always in the present tense." Great point. Thank you.
