A Keeper

My sister sent this photo and a few thoughts to me. She is not the photographer so I do not know who to thank, nor were these thoughts original with her, but they are keepers.

We never know when we will loose someone or something worth keeping. So while we have them, it is best to love them, care for them, fix what is broken and heal what is sick. This is true for our marriages, children who make mistakes, dogs with bad hips, aging parents and grandparents, a best friend who moved away, or a sister-in-law after a  divorce. We keep them because they are worth it.

Why look back and regret that we did not care enough when we had a chance?

Be a 'keeper'. Reach out to someone today and let them know how much they mean to you.

So true. Our only "couple" friends are moving in a few months. I am so sad, but know that we spent a great deal of time together and made the most out of the time given to us. It truly was a gift.

Great post. Timely to my thoughts as well. Sometimes we need to let people know how much we appreciate them in our lives because time is shorter than we think.
