Bent But Not Broken

The photographer, Mona, titled this photo Bent But Not Broken.

Sometimes we feel that way - at least the bent part. How do we keep from breaking?

1. Find a scripture verse to claim as yours. If nothing fits, just keep reading the Psalms over and over until you are assured of the same hope the psalmist found.

2. Know that 'this too shall pass'. Situations may stay the same for longer than we want, but we can change. We can change our attitudes and our outlook by turning to God. When we remember that He cares and is helping us, we can believe again for a better day.

3. Make 'bent' a position, not your mindset. Spend some time in prayer until you are renewed. Out of those times in prayer, God will encourage you and keep you from breaking.

I love this tree. I try to take photos of it everytime we go up on the Southbench Hills. In fact, I took some more of it yesterday in the snow. Your thoughts and advice are always so uplifting!
